Man United and Villarreal set up Europa League final showdown

Manchester United are through to the Europa League final despite losing to Roma in the semi-final second leg this morning.
The Red Devils went down 3-2 in Rome, but advance 8-5 on aggregate thanks to their big win at Old Trafford in last week’s first leg.
This is also United’s first major final under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

Their next opponents will be Villarreal, after the Spanish club held Arsenal to a goalless draw in London this morning to go through 2-1 on aggregate.
It will be Villarreal’s first ever appearance in a European final.

Current world number two Naomi Osaka was named Sportswoman of the Year, while French Open champion Rafa Nadal was named the men’s winner.

The fate of the Malaysian Badminton Open hangs in the balance.
The BAM says it will decide within the next 48 hours whether to go ahead with the tournament later this month, amid the ongoing spike in Covid-19 cases and the MCO in the Klang Valley.
The Malaysian Open is one of only two competitions remaining, where shuttlers can collect points towards qualification for the Tokyo Olympics.
