Chelsea are closing in on a Champions League spot for next season…after a 3-1 EPL victory over Liverpool.

The result keeps the Blues fifth in the standings, just three points ahead of Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa…with the top five teams qualifying for the Champions League.

In other results…fourth-placed Newcastle and Brighton played out a 1-1 draw.

It also ended 1-1 between West Ham and Tottenham.

While Brentford came from behind to snatch a 4-3 win over Man United.

Bayern Munich have been confirmed as Bundesliga champions…after second-placed Bayer Leverkusen failed to get the win they needed against Freiburg, to keep the title race alive.

Elsewhere, Real Madrid defeated Celta Vigo 3-2 to move to within four points of La Liga leaders Barcelona, with four matches to play.

Oscar Piastri has won his third race in a row, and his fourth of the season, after taking the chequered flag at the Miami F1 GP ahead of Lando Norris and George Russell.

China have won a record-extending 14th Sudirman Cup badminton title after beating South Korea in the final of the mixed-team tournament.

And, Malaysia has retained its overall champions title at the senior and Under-25 Asian Lawn Bowl Championships…coming home with seven golds, two silvers and one bronze medal.
