Axelsen claims maiden Malaysian Open title

Viktor Axelsen has won the men’s singles title at the Petronas Malaysian Badminton Open.

The Dane defeated Kento Momota in straight sets, in a meeting of the top two ranked players in the world.

This is Axelsen’s first Malaysian Open title since making his tournament debut in 2012.

He is also the first non-Asian to win the title since compatriot Peter Gade in 2007.

Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Cristiano Ronaldo.

This, after the Portuguese superstar informed Man United that he wants to leave the club, IF a suitable offer is made.

Its believed Ronaldo is seeking an exit to play Champions League football next season, something that Chelsea will be able to offer him.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz has won the British F1 GP, ahead of Red Bull’s Sergio Perez and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton.

Championship leader Max Verstappen finished seventh.

The incident-packed race had to be delayed for an hour after a huge crash at the first corner, that saw Zhou Guanyu’s Alfa Romeo flipping over.

Malaysia’s Muhammad Azeem Fahmi has posted a time of 20.89 seconds in the 200m event at a youth championship in Sarawak – which is the second-fastest time in the country.

His achievement also earned him at place at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Colombia next month.
