Eight quarantined in JB amid Wuhan virus concerns

Eight Chinese nationals have been quarantined in Johor Bahru, due to concerns over the Wuhan coronavirus. 

The Deputy Health minister says the eight tourists will be monitored for a week, and so far there have not shown any symptoms. 

They had travelled with another Chinese national, who became Singapore's first case.

Meanwhile the state's health department assured that they are stepping up screenings at all its entry points.

The Health Ministry has confirmed three patients have been discharged from hospitals in Malaysia after testing negative for the coronavirus

One was in Sabah, and the other two were in Selangor. 

The 4th patient, in Sabah,  is still under observation but also tested negative for the virus.

Singapore has implemented temperature screenings at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints.

Immigration officials say this is because of the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, adding they also expect more people travelling to the country, for Chinese New Year celebrations. 

Singapore recently confirmed two more virus cases, making the total to three in the country.
