Govt assures new jobs for Spad staff

May 24, 2018

The Land Public Transport Commission's 800 staff will NOT lose their jobs, once SPAD is abolished.

The Transport Minister Anthony Loke says instead, they will be absorbed into the JPJ, which has a thousand vacancies.

This, a day after the Cabinet announced that SPAD will be dissolved to help reduce govt spending.

Separately, the Transport Minister announced plans to revamp the driving test system, to eliminate any possibility of corruption.

This includes installing dashboard cameras on all test cars.

This will allow applicants to appeal, if they feel that they failed for not paying bribes to instructors.
