Traders are selling fake Musang King durians

Nov 09, 2017

A few traders have been found selling fake Musang King durians.

The Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry says they label the durians as Musang King despite them actually being durians of a different kind.

Also, these traders will normally target foreign tourists as they are not familiar with the types of durians available in the country.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry says it will ensure that the Musang King durians are labelled before being marketed to address the issue and action will be taken against anyone found misusing the label.
