Government appoints private company to monitor fuel station pumps

Nov 21, 2017

The government has appointed a private company to inspect and monitor the accuracy of fuel station pumps.

The Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Ministry says the move is to curb fuel fraud and to make sure that all petrol pumps are adhering to the rules and regulations.

It comes amid claims that some petrol station operators are making a quick profit by tampering with the pump machines.
