MH17 was shot down by missile bought from Russia
Sep 29, 2016
The Joint Investigation Team has revealed that MH17 was shot down by a Buk missile bought from Russia.
The missile was transported back to Russia, after the plane was downed in Ukraine in July 2014, killing all 298 people onboard.
Investigations also narrowed down the area where the missile was fired from, to a field in territory controlled by Russian-backed rebels.
However, Russia has refused to accept the findings, saying there is no evidence.
In response to the report, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak says firm action must be taken against those responsible for downing the plane.
The Premier will call for a meeting with the Netherlands and Australia, which both lost citizens in the crash.
