The Health Ministry has brushed aside rumours there is a rabies vaccine shortage.

Jul 26, 2017

The Health Ministry has brushed aside rumours there is a rabies vaccine shortage.

It says there are still 6,000 vials left in the stockpile, which is enough to contain the spread of the disease.

It also denied allegations that doctors were not giving vaccines to victims of dog bites.

It's not SOP to vaccinate dog bite victims outside rabies-infected zones.

Meanwhile, the number of rabies infected areas in Sarawak has risen by 2 to 22.
