MTUC: (employers) please abide by recent declaration
Apr 04, 2017
MTUC has urged employers to abide by the govt's declaration of 24th April as a public holiday, in conjunction with the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong's coronation.
It says it understands some companies may already have plans for that day, but as the govt has given 20 days notice, it should be more than enough for the management to reschedule.
Employers who refused to allow their workers to take off on 24th April will face heavy fines.
However, MTUC reminded employees that if they have no choice but to work, they are entitled to double pay under the M'sia Employment Act.
