Real time API readings of haze may come soon

Aug 29, 2016

Malaysians can soon expect to see real time Air Pollutant Index readings of the haze, as compared to the current 24-hour average.

The Natural Resources and Environment Ministry says the proposal will be raised at the next Cabinet meeting and and if it's approved, it would be implemented as soon as September 8th.

The current API readings are based on a 24-hour average, meaning that the reading may not accurately reflect the real-time air quality.

Meanwhile, HAZE is currently one of the top-trending topics on Twitter in Malaysia, as smoky conditions returned to several parts of the country today.
