govt to limit foreign credit card usage for ron95 purchases

KPDN is looking at several measures to prevent foreigners from filling up with RON95 petrol. 

According to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, this includes plans to limit the the use of foreign credit cards to buy the fuel.  

It will also introduce new regulations to prevent foreign vehicles from purchasing RON95. 

The new rules are expected to come into force on April 1st.

Not everyone is liable to face travel bans for failing to settle their PTPTN loans.  

The Deputy Education Minister says there is no blanket policy for travel restrictions, as certain criteria must be met first.  

Adam Adli told the Dewan Rakyat that among other things, it will only involve high-income borrowers who default on their loans... 

He adds that the ministry has several initiatives to help fresh grads start servicing their loans, as well as restructuring programmes for those who are unable to pay.

SARA recipients will have RM100 credited into their MyKads starting today.  

PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says its scope has been extended, to also cover frozen foods.  

He adds that the number of shops where you can redeem SARA will increase to 10,000 by the end of this year. 

Some 22 million Malaysians are eligible to receive the assistance, which must be used up by year-end.

This, following objections to a recent proposal to set up a pig farm in Selangor.
