Selangor Hit By Flash Floods

Apr 11, 2025

selangor hit by flash floods

Five districts in Selangor were hit by flash floods, due to heavy rain since early this morning.

The state Civil Defence Force says parts of Petaling, Klang, Sepang, Hulu Langat and Gombak were affected.

Meanwhile, the state Fire Department says around 140 victims have been evacuated from their homes in Shah Alam, Petaling, and Klang so far.

-

In a related development, KTMB says the flooding disrupted operations along certain stretches of its Klang Valley Komuter lines, although feeder buses were deployed to transport the affected passengers.

-

Meanwhile, the Social Welfare Department’s portal says there are still some 200 evacuees seeking shelter at a flood relief center in Batu Pahat, Johor.

-

Selangor police say they’ve already identified a suspect behind the spreading of fake news about a death from the Putra Heights pipeline fire.

Cops are also warning that they’re keeping a close watch on social media, to nab those spreading inaccurate information about the blaze.

-

And elsewhere, at least six people – including foreigners and children - have died after a tour helicopter crashed into New York’s Hudson River.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
