Trump Announces 90-day Tariff Pause

Donald Trump has announced a three-month pause for countries hit by his higher tariffs.
These countries will now see their reciprocal tariff rates going down to the universal 10 percent level for the next 90 days.
The only exception is China, who will instead be hit with a higher 125 percent tariff, up from the earlier announced 104 percent.
This is after Trump accused Beijing of a lack of respect, for imposing retaliatory tariffs on US imports into China.

Meanwhile, the government has welcomed the Trump administration’s decision to impose a three month pause for countries hit with higher reciprocal tariffs.
However, the International Trade and Industry Minister remains cautious of Washington’s latest move, which could lead to more uncertainty for the global economy.
He says Malaysia is actively assessing the implications of the changes… and remains committed to cooperating with ASEAN partners to reduce disruptions.

The government has allocated 2 million ringgit to repair public infrastructure that was damaged in the Putra Heights pipeline fire.
The Housing and Local Government Ministry says the funds will be channeled to the Subang Jaya City Council.
It adds that the relevant agencies will also be providing assistance to clean up the affected areas.

Dengue cases are on the decline…with just over a thousand cases reported nationwide for the week ending March 29th.
This is down from over 1,100 cases the week before.
The Health Ministry, is urging people to remain vigilant as there are still 21 dengue hotspots around the country, 14 of which are in Selangor.

The Sabah government is offering a 10 thousand ringgit reward for any information on the recent spate of pygmy elephant killings in the state.
This, after authorities said three decapitated carcasses were discovered there so far this year, believed to be the work of poachers.
