More than 30% of jobs in Malaysia could be affected by AI in the next 10 years.

The Science, Technology, and Innovation Ministry says key sectors, such as manufacturing, services, and information technology are expected to be the most impacted.

It adds that more than 600 thousand workers will need to undergo reskilling training within three to five years to remain relevant in the increasingly competitive job market.

The Transport Ministry is stepping up efforts to ease the financial burden on public transport operators.

As such, it's proposing a special electricity tariff to be tailored for the sector.

It adds that under the current system, public transport operators are charged the same electricity tariff as normal businesses, making it financially challenging for them.

A month-long pilot project to bring in volunteer English language teachers from Singapore will be implemented in the middle of the year.

The Education Ministry says the trial will involve several schools in the Klang Valley to conduct preliminary studies on the program before its full implementation.
