Terengganu Hit By Flooding

The first wave of flooding under the Northeast Monsoon has hit Terengganu.
According to the Social Welfare Department’s portal, there are just over 1,800 evacuees seeking shelter at relief centers…in the districts of Kemaman, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Marang and Dungun.
This, as the Met Department issued an orange alert for continuous rain for most of Terengganu as well as parts of Pahang until this Saturday.

The Health Ministry says the federal government is unable to ban vape and e-cigarettes for now, although it will continue to regulate the sale of such products.
However, it says the respective state governments are permitted to enact their own policies on vapes, through the local councils.
The ministry said this after the Sultan of Pahang called for a ban on e-cigarettes and vape, which is seen as a gateway to future drug use.

Bukit Aman says its looking into the possibility of making running red lights a non-compoundable offence.
This means offenders would have to go to court, instead of merely paying a fine.
The proposal comes amid a recent increase in cases of motorists beating red lights which has resulted in a number of fatalities.

The Malaysia Cyber Consumer Association is warning that some scammers are now targeting new victims by posing as investment gurus on social media – especially WhatsApp.
Its also urging people to always check that a scheme is approved by Bank Negara or the Securities Commission, before investing your money.
