Nov 12, 2024

ron95 subsidies won't be based on vehicle registration

The govt has no plans to base targeted petrol subsidies on vehicle ownership.

The Economy Minister says doing so would mean that many deserving individuals would miss out on getting the subsidy.

This is because according to official data, around 40% B60 households don’t register their vehicles under their own name.

Rafizi Ramli says for example, one family may share a single motorcycle.

The Defence Ministry has taken proactive measures to help prevent bullying cases at UPNM’s Military Training Academy.

It says this includes installing more CCTVs at dormitory blocks and separating dormitory levels.

This, following two recent high-profile bullying cases at the Academy over the past few weeks.

Meanwhile His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia has called for serious action to be taken over the academy bullying cases.

His Majesty pointed out that hard training is common in the military, but it should not cross the line into bullying and torture.

The government will adopt a more targeted rollout of the Menu Rahmah scheme, which will focus on areas that need affordable food options the most.

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry says it’s taking this approach instead of a nationwide expansion, because rising costs have made it difficult for some traders to continue offering such meals.
