NEWS | Expert Rules Out Mpox Vaccines/Border Controls

A public health expert has backed the Health Ministry’s stance, that there is no immediate need to conduct vaccinations or impose border controls over mpox.
Datuk Dr Zainal Ariffin Omar told Harian Metro, authorities should instead step up their monitoring of international arrivals.
Meanwhile Malaysians returning from overseas should conduct self-screenings, especially if they come into contact with mpox patients.
Meanwhile, MATTA has reminded Malaysians planning to travel overseas to take the necessary precautions against mpox, and be aware of the latest news about the virus.
It adds that so far, mpox has not had any significant impact on travel rates in Malaysia.
