Aug 09, 2024

serdang hospital impersonator remanded

The Malaysian Medical Association has voiced its concerns, after a teenager managed to impersonate staff at the Serdang Hospital.

It urged hospitals to do more to beef up security at their premises, as cases like this can pose a serious threat to the lives and health of patients.

The MMA also called for an assessment of the teen’s mental health, because of her unusual behavior.

The 14-year-old was arrested and remanded for two days, on charges of trespassing and impersonating a public official.

Earlier reports said she allegedly posed as a hospital worker for a week.

Penang police have ruled out foul play, over viral images of a cat that was seen hanging from the back of a pickup truck.

Cops say it happened by accident because the cat, that was tied to the truck by a leash, had tried to jump out of the vehicle.

The driver claimed he was not aware of what was happening.

The state police chief says currently, his officers are waiting for instructions from the prosecutor’s office.

This, after a court ruled that his death, during training in Lumut, as homicide.

It set aside last year's open verdict by the Coroner’s Court.

Zayn Rayyan’s great-aunt has been given temporary custody of the murdered autistic child’s younger brother.

The Shah Alam Magistrates Court issued the order, following consultations between Zayn’s family and the Social Welfare Dept.

This, after the boys’ parents were charged in court in June for neglect that would have caused physical injury.
