Those who donate food need to ensure that the meals are safe for consumption.

The Health Ministry says this includes providing information like the expiry date...as well as reminders not to leave the food out for too long.

It says this is to avoid a repeat of food poisoning cases involving donated food.

The government is being urged to do more, to improve access to education for refugee and stateless kids in the country.

UNICEF says currently, none of the over 41 thousand registered refugee children of school-going age, have any access to formal education.

The UN agency also pointed out that the even the small percentage of these kids who go to alternative learning centers, leave without getting any recognized credentials.

Authorities in Johor are on alert following an oil spill from a ship collision in Singapore earlier this week.
