Weather improves in flood-hit Penang

Nov 06, 2017

The weather in Penang is reported to be clear and it has stopped raining.

The police operations room there says floodwaters have receded, and the number of evacuees has dropped to 3,500, from 6,700 earlier.

However, several roads in the state are still impassable due to the floods, while the water level at Sungai Pinang on Jalan P.Ramlee is at the danger level.

It's understood some employers are reportedly allowing their workers to take emergency leave, if they can't come to the office due to floods.
