New bill allows doctors and pharmacists to dispense medicine

The Pharmacy Bill, which would allow both doctors and pharmacists to dispense medicine, has been finalised and submitted to the Attorney-General's chambers.
The Malaysian Medical Association President, Dr Ravindran Naidu told us, the MMA has no objection to the proposed law:
Dr Ravindran adds that pharmacies must also be responsible when issuing medicines, and abide by the doctor's prescription.
The Bill had been rejected by the MMA two years ago, after claiming the medical fratenity was not consulted over the move.
