Mother and daughter to be charged today over abuse of maid in Penang

The mother and daughter accused of abusing their maid to death in Penang will be charged in court today. 

The 60-year-old mother will be charged with murder, while the 36-year-old daughter will be charged with providing protection for a foreigner. 

Another person detained in the case has turned witness. 

21-year-old Adelina Lisao was rescued with severe injuries about a week ago after she was seen sleeping on the porch with a dog, but she died in hospital the next day.
