Police rescue Cambodians trafficked to Malaysia

The police have rescued 17 Cambodians who were trafficked to Malaysia and forced to become beggars at night markets by their own countrymen.
The 11 adults, 3 children and 2 babies were rescued from a shophouse in KL, after a tipoff from human rights NGO Tenaganita led the police to one of the victims.
The 23-year-old disabled Cambodian man who was rescued from a night market in Puchong, says he had to raise 100 ringgit every night or be beaten up.
4 people, including the Cambodian mastermind and a Malaysian permanent resident, have been arrested.
