No Malaysians injured in New York explosion

Sep 19, 2016

Wisma Putra has confirmed no Malaysians were injured in the explosion that hit the district of Chelsea in New York yesterday.

The Ministry says it will continue to monitor the situation through the Consulate General of Malaysia in New York.

It adds that Malaysians around New York who need help can get in touch with the Consulate.

Meanwhile, all 29 people who were injured in the New York bombing have been released from hospital.

US authorities are still investigating the motive of the attack, after declaring it an act of terror, although they add that it had no international links.

This, as an extra 1,000 state police and National Guard will be deployed to airports, bus terminals and subway stations in New York today to reassure New Yorkers returning to work that the city is up and running.
