[UPDATE] Twin bombings hit Turkish city

Dec 11, 2016

2 explosions have hit near a football stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

10 people are currently in custody over the blasts, which killed 29 people and injured nearly 170 others.

The Interior Ministry says a remote-controlled car bomb exploded directly outside the stadium, while a suspected suicide bomber attacked an adjacent park less than a minute later.

It's believed that the attackers were specifically targeting police officers at the scene.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, which took place after a match between Besiktas and Bursaspor.
