MH17 culprits to be named by year-end

Oct 02, 2016

The names of the individuals responsible for shooting down MH17 may be confirmed by year-end or early next year.

The Australian foreign minister says the culprits could face an international tribunal, similar to the one used to prosecute those behind the bombing of a PanAm flight over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988.

This comes days after international investigators said that MH17 was shot-down by a Russian-made missile from a pro-Russian village in Eastern Ukraine.

Russia disputes this, and has instead blamed it on the Ukrainian military.
