99 percent of fake news disseminated in Malaysia originated from locals living here.
The MCMC says only 1 percent came from Malaysians who've migrated to other countries like Sweden and Australia.
1,500 fake news items have been verified by the Sebenarnya.my portal since it was launched, and 40 people have been charged.
