Ministry plans to formulate a new law related to the safety of water activities.

Mar 17, 2018

The Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry plans to formulate a new law related to the safety of water activities in a bid to curb drowning incidents at recreational spots such as sea and rivers.

Minister, Tan Sri Noh Omar said the proposed law was also aimed at empowering the enforcement of existing ‘no bathing’ warning signboard in high-risk recreational areas.

Many people have simply disregarded the ‘no bathing’ warning signboard which resulted in untoward incidents such as drowning to occur.
