MOH: no known cases of any salmonella outbreak in the Klang Valley

Mar 03, 2018

The Health Ministry says there are currently no known cases of any salmonella outbreak in the Klang Valley.

This, after a WhatsApp message claiming that there is a salmonella outbreak in the Klang Valley went viral since the food poisoning incident at HTAR, Klang.

In the incident, 76 staff from the hospital have suffered food poisoning since Wednesday, after consuming food prepared by an outside caterer.

However, all emergency operations and intensive care services were not affected as those affected were from the hospital's Anaesthesia Dept.

The Klang Municipal Council Health Department director also confirmed to The Star that Klang has not been hit by any outbreak.
