Health Ministry expecting spike in dengue cases.

Feb 13, 2017

The Health Ministry is expecting more dengue cases between July and August, when the hot weather will make the D1 strain of the virus more prevalent.

This, as it said there are no current plans to release mosquitos with the Wolbachia organism in dengue-affected areas nationwide, as the pilot project is still in the trial phase in Selangor.

The project is aimed at reducing dengue cases in the country.

Separately, the ministry says there's no new development on the three leptospirosis cases in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, although it will keep the public updated from time to time.
