Police tracking whereabouts of a Syrian family

Sep 15, 2016

Police in Negeri Sembilan are working with Bukit Aman to trace the whereabouts of a Syrian family, after an object resembling a hand grenade was found in their hotel room in Port Dickson.

The police will also work with the Immigration Department to get more details about the family, including when they entered Malaysia.

They add for now, they cannot confirm whether the object was indeed an explosive, as the account came purely from eyewitnesses.

According to earlier reports, hotel staff found something resembling a bomb under the bed as the family was checking out, but could not stop one of the family members from taking the device and leaving the hotel.
