Not enough affordable houses to go around

The low supply of affordable houses despite high demand for them, is the reason why many Malaysians are still without a house.

The Second Finance Minister told the Star, the problem is not due to a lack of financial institutions willing to provide loans, but houses that are priced too high, making it difficult for buyers to qualify for loans. 

This, after several parties opposed the govt's decision to give moneylending licenses to eligible housing developers to provide housebuyers with up to 100% of their home loans.
