27-year old woman 3rd Zika case in Malaysia

A 27-year old woman in JB has been confirmed as the third Zika case in Malaysia, the first in a pregnant woman.

The Health Ministry says her husband, who commutes daily to Singapore for work, also has symptoms of the virus, and has been admitted to hospital for investigations. 

The mother of the female victim will also be screened, even though she has yet to show any symptoms of the virus.

Vector control activities have been carried out at the patient's residence and other places she has visited in Johor. 

The first Zika case in Msia involved a woman in Selangor, followed by a man in Sabah, who died after heart complications.
