DBKL wants schools and parents to cooperate to stop hawkers
Aug 18, 2016
DBKL wants cooperation from schools and parents, to stop hawkers from selling snacks and drinks outside school compounds.
It says, hawkers are banned from operating outside school grounds, and those caught doing so face a 300 ringgit compound, while their goods will be seized.
This, after reports said many hawkers are selling items like junk food outside schools, despite rules and constant action by DBKL enforcement officers.
Meanwhile, the National PTA Collaborative Council says schools should educate students on the dangers of consuming junk food.
