Public advised to stop using 2 unregistetred traditional Chinese medicines
Apr 15, 2016
The public has been advised to stop using 2 unregistetred traditional Chinese medicines, called Dong Mai Tan and Seven Leaves Ginseng.
The Health Ministry says it's because they contain a compound called dexamethasone, which can cause complications including liver failure.
Those who have taken the medicines are urged to seek immediate treatment from health professionals.
Also, they should not abruptly discontinue taking the medicines, as this can cause withdrawal symptoms including confusion and a drop in blood pressure.
