pm heeds king's call to action over corruption

The PM has vowed to take firm and decisive action against corruption and threats to our national security.  

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this following His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia's Royal Address to Parliament today.  

Among other things, his Majesty called for tough action against corruption such as the case involving military procurements.  

The King also highlighted the need to have new laws to tackle emerging threats, including those posed by AI deepfakes.

The Dewan Rakyat Speaker says the first sitting of the Youth Parliament is expected to take place in June, a month after planned elections for its MPs.  

The Youth Parliament aims to expand youth participation in the democratic system and give them early exposure to parliamentary proceedings.

Melaka has announced a special holiday for civil servants on 19th February in conjunction with the start of Ramadan.  

It falls on the same week as Chinese New Year and state holiday to honor our Declaration of Independence, meaning that folks in the state will have a long six-day weekend!

A man who was detained for allegedly caning and throwing chairs at his young nephews in Petaling Jaya recently has been released on bail, while police wrap up their probe.

Wisma Putra says so far it has not received any reports of Malaysian casualties following last night's high speed train accident in Spain.

The Insolvency Dept says Selangor has the highest number of civil servants who were declared bankrupt, mostly teachers who took personal loans.

PTPTN has revealed that over 360,000 borrowers have never repaid their study loans, involving funds of some RM5.1 billion.

Controversial singer Namewee has pleaded NOT guilty to two new charges of drug possession, stemming from his arrest at a hotel in KL back in October.
