Bung Moktar Acquitted

The late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin has been posthumously discharged and acquitted by the KL Sessions Court, on three corruption charges involving 2.8 million ringgit.
This, after the prosecution informed the court that it did not intend to proceed with the case following the Kinabatangan MP’s death early last month.
However, the judge confirmed that the trial against Bung Moktar’s widow on charges of abetment will proceed.

The Communications Ministry is looking into lowering the threshold for social media platforms to be registered and licensed by the government.
This is because X claims that it does not meet the requirement of having at least eight million users in Malaysia, in order for it to be registered.
The proposal comes in the wake of the controversy involving X’s Grok AI tool…which has been misused to create obscene images.
