Dec 28, 2025

negeri sembilan blast suspect detained

Police have detained a 62-year-old man, who’s suspected of being involved in last week’s explosion in Desa Palma, Nilai.

The cops picked him up in Mantin yesterday evening, after several days on the run.

Several items, believed to be improvised explosive devices – were found on him at the time of the arrest.

The suspect also had burns on his face and body.

Using someone else’s MyKad for any purpose, including to claim government aid, is a serious offence.

The National Registration Department says stern legal action will be taken against offenders.

It said this following the arrest of a 42-year-old local man in Negeri Sembilan, for allegedly using another person’s MyKad to purchase subsidized fuel under the Budi95 scheme.

-

The Prime Minister has welcomed the immediate ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia, which is now in effect.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also pledged our full support to ensure the truce holds, even after we hand over the chairmanship of ASEAN on January 1st.

-

The Met Department says a 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck near Pagoh in Johor this morning.

It posed no tsunami threat, and there’ve been no reports of damage…although tremors were likely felt in parts of Johor and Melaka.

-

Separately, the Met Department has issued a warning for severe continuous rain until tomorrow for Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin in Pahang as well as Mersing in Johor.
