Msia, US Sign Key Trade Deal

Malaysia and the US have signed a deal for a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between both countries.

The agreement, which was signed by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Donald Trump on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit, aims to solidify Malaysia’s role as a vital and trusted partner of the US.

Our new reciprocal trade agreement with the US also maintains the tariff rate at 19 percent…with exemptions for over 1,700 key Malaysian exports.

Meanwhile, Trump has praised Datuk Seri Anwar for helping successfully broker the signing of the landmark peace deal to end Thailand and Cambodia’s border conflict.

The US president says the effort has led to a ceasefire that prevented the conflict from escalating, ensuring the safety of civilians on both sides of the Cambodia-Thai border.

Police are once again reminding Klang Valley motorists to be more cautious when police convoys for the ASEAN Summit are passing through.

This, after another police outrider collided with a passing vehicle near PWTC while escorting an international delegation.

It’s the second such incident in as many days.

There’s been a further improvement in the flood situation nationwide, with the number of evacuees in Kedah, Perak, Penang and Sabah declining to just over 3,000…down by about 200 victims compared to last night.
