Trump Arrives In KL

Donald Trump has arrived in KL to attend the ASEAN Summit.

The US President was greeted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at KLIA this morning.

Trump is only the third American president after Lyndon B. Johnson and Barack Obama to visit Malaysia.

In a related development, Timor Leste has officially become the 11^th member of ASEAN…with the signing of the document of admission at this morning’s opening ceremony.

This is the grouping’s first expansion in 26 years.

Meanwhile, PDRM is advising motorists in the Klang Valley to remain alert to police convoy movements throughout the duration of the ASEAN Summit.

This, after a police outrider was injured when he was hit by a four-wheel drive vehicle along the Elite Highway yesterday, while escorting an international delegation for the summit.

Work is still ongoing to restore the signaling system on the MRT Putrajaya line following yesterday’s disruption.

Rapid Rail says a technical investigation has found a large number of fibre optic cables had been cut and stolen…requiring extensive repairs.

And, more than six thousand people have been forced out of their homes due to flooding in three states.

According to the Social Welfare Department’s portal…there are over 2,600 evacuees in Perak…Kedah has over 2,300 victims…while more than a thousand are currently at relief centers in Penang.
