Sep 24, 2025

At least 14 people have died and over a hundred others are missing in Taiwan after Super Typhoon Ragasa struck the island.
This, after the storm caused a barrier lake to burst its banks, sending a wall of water into a nearby town.
Ragasa has since hit Hong Kong, lashing the city with heavy rain and winds of up to 200kph, as it continues to make its way to mainland China.
It is expected to make landfall in the province of Guangdong at around midday before moving towards Vietnam and Laos.
Chinese authorities have already issued evacuation orders for some 770,000 people in Guangdong.
Schools, and transport services there have also been ordered to close, while flights at airports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen have been cancelled.
This, after the storm struck the Philippines earlier this week, killing at least three people.
Ragasa is said to be the strongest recorded storm in the world so far this year.
