The Haze Is Still Here

Transboundary haze continued to hit several areas in the Peninsular today.  

According to the Dept of Environment's website, 8 areas reported unhealthy Air Pollutant Index readings as at 6pm.  

2 of the areas in the Klang Valley: namely Banting and Johan Setia. 

Unhealthy API readings have also been detected in several areas in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang and Terengganu.

MetMalaysia says 3 areas were under a Level-1 heat alert today – namely Bentong, Pahang; Machang, Kelantan and Kota Marudu, Sabah. 

A level 1 alert is issued when maximum temperatures reach 35-37 degrees Celsius for at least three days.

Zayn Rayyan's mother has been ordered to enter her defence on a charge of negligence, over the 6-year-old autistic child's death.  

The Petaling Jaya sesions court ruled that the prosecution successfully proved their case against the mum, who was charged with neglect that could cause physical or emotional injury.  

However, Zayn's father was acquitted of a similar charge.  

Zayn was reported missing in December 2023, and his remains were found in a stream the following day.
