M'sia Moves Closer To Having A.I. Laws

The government is stepping up efforts to develop AI legislation.
As such, the de-facto Law Minister has reached out to the Digital Ministry to start discussions on drafting new laws and regulations to govern the technology.
The minister adds that Malaysia currently has no specific laws focused on the matter, because unlike traditional technologies, AI operates on an entirely different platform.

The government will focus on increasing Malaysia's fertility rate, which has been on the decline over the past 15 years.
As such, the Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry will start by promoting more inclusive solutions that also include men.
The fertility rate this year stood at 1.7, which is an improvement compared to last year, but still remains far below the recommended level of 2.1.

Police say nearly 60 personnel have been dismissed from PDRM in the first five months of the year.
They add that most of the dismissals were due to drug-related offences.
Meanwhile, other cases involved integrity violations, criminal offences and corruption.

The Higher Education Ministry has raised 1.7 million ringgit to support victims and families affected by the recent bus crash in Perak which killed 15 UPSI students.
The ministry adds that the special fund will be distributed to recipients in stages, and that over 370 thousand ringgit has already been disbursed so far.
