MetMalaysia: Nothing Unusual With The Weather
May 30, 2025

There is nothing unusual about the hot weather we're currently facing.
MetMalaysia says it's part and parcel of the Southwest Monsoon, which typically causes dryer conditions due to less cloud cover and rainfall.
The Southwest monsoon runs from May to September.
It said this after MetMalaysia issued Level 1 heat alerts for several regions in the country, including KL and Petaling, and a number of districts in Perak.
Such an alert is issued when an area reports maximum temperatures of between 35-37 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.

The company that owns the lorry involved in the fatal FRU crash has had its operating license revoked.
The Land Public Transport Agency says investigations revealed that the company committed multiple safety violations, including transporting goods that were not authorised under its vehicle permit.
Earlier reports said that the lorry was carrying a load of gravel when it collided with an FRU transport vehicle in Teluk Intan, Perak earlier this month.
9 FRU personnel were killed, while the lorry driver is on trial for causing death by dangerous driving.
