The Transport Ministry is stepping up efforts to ensure the safety of road users before and after Hari Raya.

As such, goods vehicles will be banned from the roads on March 28th and 29th, as well as April 5th and 6th.

Minister Anthony Loke says stern action will be taken against those who fail to adhere to the ban, including fines and jail terms.

The Minister also says the special festive season traffic operation will begin nationwide on March 24th, to detect and take action against road users who violate traffic laws and regulations.

The PM has directed NADMA to focus on assisting those affected by the floods in Sabah and Sarawak.

There are currently some 4,800 flood evacuees currently displaced in Sabah, while all victims in Sarawak have since been allowed to return home.

Separately, the PM has warned the public against fake news ahead of the Ayer Kuning by-election.

He says misinformation always resurfaces every election season and advised Malaysians to remain vigilant against it.

36 people have been rescued after a cargo vessel carrying toxic chemicals collided with an oil tanker off the coast of the UK.

The tanker is said to have been carrying jet fuel for the US military, some of which is now spilling into the North Sea

And, Elon Musk says X was the target of a major cyberattack after users in Asia, Europe and North America earlier complained about not being able to access the platform.
