Cops Probing Death Of Government Officer

cops probing death of government officer

The public are being urged to give the police space to investigate the death of a government officer at the Treasury Office.

The Home Ministry says it's still too early to comment on the incident, but assured that authorities will conduct a thorough investigation.

Yesterday, the body of the officer assigned to the Customs Department was found with his neck and legs bound with cable ties.

However, cops have ruled out foul play for now.

The Malaysian Medical Association has welcomed the government's move to review private clinic consultation fees.

It says the move is a long overdue one, after more than three decades since the last adjustment.

The association explained that private clinics have been struggling to cope with higher expenses over recent years, with many even shutting down.

As such, it's suggesting that the government review consultation fees at regular intervals of every three years.

750 Malaysians were rescued from job scam syndicates overseas as of last month.

The Home Ministry says this was done via its diplomatic channels overseas with the help of local authorities and the Malaysian police.

It adds that eight other victims are currently in the process of returning home, while 236 others are still being tracked down.

Local comedian Harith Iskandar and a social media user have been hit with a ten thousand ringgit fine each, over a recent joke that was deemed insensitive to Islam.

The MCMC says the two are also at risk of having their Facebook accounts closed.

And the US National Security Adviser has confirmed that America has paused intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

Earlier, military aid to the war-torn country was also suspended, shortly after Ukranian president Volodymyr Zelensky was told to leave the White House after an angry meeting with President Donald Trump.
