kkm: ramadan bazaars must maintain highest safety standards

Ramadan Bazaars traders have been reminded to maintain the highest food safety standards, to prevent health risks to consumers.

The Health Ministry says this includes avoiding the use of non-food safe containers, such as turning aquariums into drinks containers.

They should also avoid the use of rubbish bags to store raw ingredients.

The Health Ministry also says that it is expanding its food monitoring activities for fasting month to include hotels that offer Ramadan buffets, as well as suppliers of ice and raw materials.

It's to ensure that food providers comply with hygiene and safety standards.

Meanwhile, Sarawak's Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority, or FAMA is encouraging traders at its Ramadan bazaars to donate unsold food to the needy.

It says this is one way of avoiding food waste.

Also, checks by Bernama have revealed that cat hotels are alreadt fully booked for the Aidilfitri period!

This, as pet owners look for a safe place for their beloved animals while they return to their hometowns.

The Negeri Sembilan Education Department says this includes conducting risk assessments before such activities are carried out, and getting parental consent.

Proper safety briefings must also be carried out beforehand.

Meanwhile, participating students must undergo close supervision and monitoring to ensure their safety.
