Govt Launches Fact-Check Chat Bot

The govt has introduced a new AI-powered chatbot to help people fact-check info on WhatsApp.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil says the system is needed to combat the spread of misinformation on WhatsApp, as a lot of Malaysians rely on the app for news.
He adds that currently, the chatbot can be used to verify text-based information.
However, it will soon be expanded to images and videos as well.

The HR Ministry has reminded employers that they cannot force workers to take annual or unpaid leave as a means to cut costs.
This, amid reports of some employers requiring workers to take such leave, because they want to shut down operations beyond the two gazetted Chinese New Year public holidays.
Workers facing annual leave entitlement or salary deductions can lodge a report with the Labour Office.

The Higher Education Ministry is providing the necessary assistance to eight Malaysian students who were involved in an accident in Egypt at the weekend.
It says three of the students needed emergency treatment in hospital, while the others sustained minor injuries.
