The bulk of motorists are expected on the North South Expressway.

The Malaysian Highway Authority says its expecting a heavy flow of traffic out of the Klang Valley between the 24th and 28th, with return journeys expected to peak on February 1st and 2nd.

To address the increase in vehicles, the Authority will be implementing Smart Lanes at 25 key locations, while heavy vehicles will be barred from the highways on January 27th and 28th, as well as 1st and 2nd of February.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet is expected to hold a discussion this Friday regarding a more targeted approach to help eligible motorists, following the decision to abolish free tolls for festive seasons.

Its minister says the guidelines on the matter are clear, adding that any outside jobs must not interfere with their primary duties.

This is in response to concerns about the growing number of education service officers engaging in part-time work.

The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that no Malaysians were hurt in the tragic ski resort fire in Turkiye that claimed 76 lives.

Bank Negara has maintained its overnight policy rate at 3 percent, following the conclusion of its monetary policy committee meeting today.

And, a British study, using data from the World Health Organisaton, has found that men around the world have grown taller and heavier twice as fast as women over the past century.
